NOVATO, CA — The Novato Police Department said they have received a grant for $110,000 from the California Office of Traffic Safety to support traffic enforcement.
“We are grateful to receive this grant, which will strengthen our traffic enforcement efforts and improve road safety,” NPD Sergeant Reza Pourfarhani said. “Through a combination of education and enforcement efforts, our goal is to reduce dangerous driving behaviors, prevent crashes, and make our roads safer for everyone."
The grant will fund programs and resources, including DUI checkpoints and patrols, high-visibility distracted driving enforcement targeting hands-free violations, operations focused on protecting people biking and walking, enforcement targeting top crash-causing violations and community traffic safety presentations.
