Pride Flag Raised At Key Buildings In This Marin County City, City Council Signifies Month
The city council will officially recognize the month at its next meeting.
NOVATO, CA — The City of Novato will raise a Pride flag at City Hall with an official ceremony on June 1.
“Pride Month is a meaningful time to celebrate our LGBTQ+ community and reflect on the values that bring us together,” said City Manager Amy Cunningham. “In Novato, we are proud to stand for inclusivity, kindness and the belief that every person deserves to feel seen, heard and valued.”
At 11 a.m. June 1, there will be a flag raising ceremony at Novato City Hall located at 901 Sherman Ave. where Councilmember Mark Milberg will speak.
Also a Pride flag will be raised at the Novato Police Department and flown for the entire month of June.
The Novato City Council plans to issue a proclamation at the June 10 meeting to officially signify the month of June at LGBTQ+ Pride Month in the City.
“The proclamation recognizes Novato’s support of the rights, equality, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community,” a press release stated.
