MARIN COUNTY, CA — No Marin team had won a state high school football championship going into Saturday. Now Marin has two champions.
San Marin won the Division 5-AA title in its first state championship game appearance, and Marin Catholic won the 4-AA title in its third try.

San Marin defeated Independence of Bakersfield 20-14 in the title game Saturday night at San Marin, and Marin Catholic defeated Escalon 21-14 earlier in the day.
