Sheriff Identifies Body Found In Marin County, Still Under Investigation: Police

The sheriff's office is attempting to notify next of kin, police said.

NOVATO, CA — The Marin County Sheriff’s Office has identified the body of an older man found dead in Novato Sunday but are waiting to notify next of kin before announcing it to the public, police said.

According to Sheriff’s Deputy Stephanie Ware, they have identified the body of a man who was found unresponsive near Entrada Drive and Lilac Place at around 10 a.m. Sunday.

Novato Police responded to the area Sunday morning after receiving a call of a possible medical emergency and someone reported an older man was down on the ground and not breathing, police said.

Novato Fire paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.

The case was transferred to the Marin County Sheriff's Office, and the coroner’s office was contacted to investigate the death.
