So Far, Just Speculation on Motive for Robinhood Drive Shooting
Nothing new to report about why bullets were sprayed at an east Novato home on Wednesday night, police said.

said Friday there is no new information about why someone fired bullets into an inhabited residence Wednesday evening on Robinhood Drive in an affluent area on the east side of the city.
Lt. John McCarthy said "in excess of 10 shots" were fired into the hilltop house around 6:40 p.m., and Lt. Keith Heiden added Friday that there was nothing new to report — although he has heard plenty of rumors.
"That's all speculation," he said.

Two women inside a living room area were not injured, and a man who also livesthere was not home at the time, McCarthy said. Police recovered some bullets from inside the house, he said.
Officers searched the hillside until dark Wednesday and again Thursday, McCarthy said. No one was seen in the area at the time of the shooting but someone reported seeing a black van, McCarthy said.

A police dog tracked a human scent to a curb, suggesting the shooter left in a vehicle, McCarthy said.
Police occasionally receive reports about someone shooting deer near the home in the open space areas off Highway 37, but in this instance bullets ricocheted inside the residence, McCarthy said.
The two female residents said they can't image why someone shot into the house, McCarthy said.
"We're still trying to figure it out," he said.
