Suspected Marin Meth Dealer Arrested

More than a pound of methamphetamine and replica firearms were seized in the bust, authorities said.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — A suspected Marin methamphetamine dealer was arrested Thursday, authorities said.

John William Gobbin, 55 of San Rafael, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sale and booked into Marin County Jail, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office said.

Gobbin is being held on $50,000 bail as of Thursday afternoon.

Gobbin’s arrested culminated a Sheriff’s Office Specialized Investigative Unit investigation assisted by the county’s Coordination of Probation Enforcement Unit.

Authorities conducted a search in which officers seized more than a pound of methamphetamine packaged for sale, replica firearms (without orange colored tips), drug paraphernalia, narcotics packaging, multiple digital scales, and US currency.
