Travel Channel Features Marin County Town
A real estate and lifestyle expert called the town the "Heart of Americana."
NOVATO, CA — A recent segment on the Travel Channel highlighted Novato, especially downtown on Grant Avenue.
The host of the segment Cooper Gaines, a real estate and lifestyle expert, highlighted Novato for its location in between San Francisco and Napa Valley.
Stephanie Koehler, the Novato Business Association executive director, was also featured in the segment. She said downtown Novato has about 430 businesses and nearly every other one is locally owned and operated.

"When I first came to Novato, what I experienced was the heart of Americana. It is right here. It is legitimate. It's real, and it just feels so warming and welcoming to me," Gaines said.
Koehler elaborated on the family-oriented community, appreciating the tree-lined streets, outdoor dining, and various festivals, including a significant Halloween event with 3,000 children participating in Safe Trick or Treat.

Gaines said he felt at home in Novato, mentioning favorite local spots like Marvin's and the candy store, Celine's Sweets.
Koehler noted that many visitors stay in Novato due to its comfortable accommodations and central location, offering everything one might need.
Gaines asked about upcoming events, and Koehler described the "Rock the Block," a signature event held on the first and last Thursday of every summer, featuring live music, street parties and family-friendly activities.
"Treat yourself and come to Novato, you will have an experience that you can take home with you and honestly live with you for a lifetime," Gaines said.
