Vandalism Incident Triggers Novato Hotel Evacuation: Cops
Megan Jeanine Mancini, 46, was arrested on suspicion of vandalism and carrying a concealed weapon among other charges, police said.
NOVATO, CA — A Marin woman was arrested Sunday night in connection with a vandalism incident that led to the evacuation of a Novato hotel, police said.
Megan Jeanine Mancini, 46, was arrested on suspicion of vandalism, carrying a concealed weapon and providing police with false information, among other charges, the Novato Police Department said. Mancini was later booked at Marin County Jail.
Officers at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday responding to the 1400 block of North Hamilton Parkway on the report of a regarding a medical call involving a baby in distress determined the call was fake, police said.

After arriving on the scene determined that a woman had discharged a fire extinguisher at a nearby hotel and pulled the fire alarm, causing the hotel to evacuate.
The woman left the hotel and entered a nearby supermarket where she stole several items and subsequently vandalized a car by throwing a stolen bottle through the window of a parked car, police said.

When officers contacted the woman fronting a business inside Hamilton Marketplace, she provided a false name before eventually being identified as Mancini, police said.
Mancini resisted arrest and was found to be in possession of two large knives that were concealed in her pants, police said.
Upon booking at Marin County Jail, controlled substances were located concealed in Mancini’s clothing.
