Vandals Strike at 2 San Marin High Buildings

Cash register in kitchen appeared to be target, but no cash was taken, police say. Laptop taken from classroom.

Vandals broke into two buildings on the campus early Wednesday and made off with a laptop computer while ransacking several rooms, said.

Sgt. Eric Riddell said suspects used a flat concrete object, similar to the protective cover of a sprinkler system, to break several windows in the Emily Gates Student Center. Riddell said it appeared the cash register in the cafeteria's kitchen was the target, but no cash was stolen. The cash register was broken and the kitchen was trashed, he said.

The same suspects are believed to have entered a room in the school's 700 building and stolen a laptop.
