Pet of the Week: Cody the Doberman who Doesn't Know He's Big
He's a 1 year old, 59 pound, "Blue" Doberman Pinscher. Don't let his size fool you. He'll gladly snuggle on your lap for a doggie nap.

Editor's note: I erroneously posted this to Oceanside-Camp Pendleton Patch instead of Encinitas Patch. I'll leave it up, however, in case anybody is looking to adopt Cody. I actually met him a few weeks ago while shooting this video and he was my favorite. I'd adopt him myself if I could.

Cody is still trying to figure out what to do with his long legs and big paws. The care providers in the kennels say he’s still a goofy puppy.
The expression on his face tells you that Cody is ready for plenty of adventures with his new family. You’ll need to reinforce the training he’s already had as you continue teaching him new things. He’s eager to please.

When we say that Cody is “Blue,” that means that he’s a typical, intelligent, alert, Doberman. But his genetics give his coat a “bluish-brown” tint.
The $145 adoption fee for Cody includes his medical exam, up to date vaccinations, neuter, and microchip identification.
Adopt Cody or sponsor him until his new family takes him home. Call 760-753-6413...log on to SDpets.org...or visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas.
Kennels and cattery are open Wednesday through Monday from 11 to 5.
