Pet of the Week: Lucky the Chihuahua Needs a Special Owner
He's got a great personality once he gets to know you as he is a bit stand offish with strangers and is looking to bond with that special person.

The following is from the Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter:
Lucky is a charming little guy who came to the shelter as a stray. No telling how long this boy was loose on base, he was underweight and needed medical attention. Now he is ready for a new home. He is a special needs dog. He does have one eye only and that one eye may need drops and ointment for the rest of his life.
He's got a great personality once he gets to know you as he is a bit stand offish with strangers and is looking to bond with that special person. He is good with other small dog friendly dogs too. His family didn't come to find him, so now he is dreaming of a new loving home where he can be a real member of the family. Might that be with you? He is an older housetrained dog but no small or young children please.
The public is welcome to come adopt the patriotic pets at the Camp Pendleton Animal Shelter! All pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and micro-chipped prior to adoption. Adoption Hours: Thursday - Sunday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Monday - Wednesday by appointment because we are sometimes "in the field" on those days, so call ahead. Please DO call the shelter to check on the adoption availability date for our pets to make sure the one you want is ready to go! PHONE: 760-725-8120
