Video: Woman Proposes to Girlfriend at North County LGBTQ Celebration After SCOTUS Rulings

Kindra Fesmire and Michelle Coccari become fiancees as members of the North County LGBTQ Resource Center in Oceanside celebrate court victories.

Hours after U.S. Supreme Court justices ruled against California Prop. 8—which banned gay marriage in California—and axed the Defense of Marriage Act, North County residents saw a woman propose to her girlfriend. 

Kindra Fesmire asked Michelle Coccari to marry her at the entrance of the North County LGBTQ Resource Center in Oceanside as about a hundred supporters looked on and celebrated. 

"Absolutely," Coccari responded.

Fesmire said she bought the ring two months ago and was waiting for today's ruling to propose.
