SILVERADO CANYON, CA — A suspected drunk driver triggered a head-on crash that killed him and another driver in Silverado Canyon, authorities said Sunday.

A 1993 Toyota and a 2018 Ford were going in opposite directions on Santiago Canyon Road, west of Limestone Spur Road, when one of the vehicles crashed head-on into the other at about 9 p.m. Saturday, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The 34-year-old La Habra man driving the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics rushed the man inside the Toyota to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana, where the Santa Ana resident died from his injuries.
