Rock Icon Cuts $10K Check For OC Boy Injured In Helicopter Crash: Report

The 12-year-old boy was presented Saturday with a $10,000 check from a charity foundation run by music icon Sammy Hagar.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — An Orange County boy who sustained serious injuries after a helicopter crash in Huntington Beach was presented Saturday with a $10,000 check from a charity foundation run by rock music icon Sammy Hagar, The Orange County Register reported.

The check presentation happened while 12-year-old Oliver Holland and his family were on a staycation hosted by The Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach, the newspaper said.

He was presented the check by Hagar via FaceTime, according to reports.

"There's so many things that you can do to help others that's so important and I would hope that maybe this experience would help you do that," Hagar was reported saying to Oliver.
