4 Commercial Break-Ins Result In 2 Arrests, $68K In Losses In OC City

The recent crimes in Rancho Santa Margarita involved warehouses and work vehicles, officials said.

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA — Four commercial burglaries, logged in recent weeks at warehouses throughout Rancho Santa Margarita, resulted in two arrests and the recovery of thousands of dollars in stolen property, according to authorities.

"The estimated total loss to our businesses was more than $68,000," said the Rancho Santa Margarita Police Services arm of the Orange County Sheriff's Department. "The suspects had broken into multiple warehouses and work vehicles and damaged some property in the process."

Investigators from the Rancho Special Enforcement Team worked leads, identified a "vehicle of interest" and arrested two individuals allegedly connected to the crimes, the agency said, adding that thousands of dollars in stolen property was recovered.
