5 Disneyland Resort Updates For Summer 2023: What To Know When You Go
Starting in June, expect new sights, sounds and flavors at the Disneyland Resort. Here's what and who to expect, and where!

ANAHEIM, CA — Summer is here, and with it, the Disneyland Resort has revamped multiple rides, characters, and venues across the park. Though Mickey's Toontown is undergoing a few more improvements and the Haunted Mansion is being refreshed to welcome in the "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas" clan, you can still find new characters, dining options and park upgrades through the summer months.

1. Take a peek at Nick Fury, appearing at the Avengers Campus starting June 21. Fury will interact with guests and maybe even talk about secrets related to his new Disney+ show "Secret Invasion."

2. Keep your eyes open for Ariel from the new "The Little Mermaid" movie through the summer. Expect to see Ariel in person at special appearances at Disneyland, officials said. Ariel will venture on land to greet guests along the promenade near “it’s a small world” at Disneyland park.

3. "Rogers: The Musical" begins at the Disney California Adventure's Hyperion Theater, bringing patriotic Captain America flair starting June 30. Running at 30 minutes, from Tuesday through Saturday most weeks, the production features singers and dancers telling the story of Steve Rogers – Captain America – joined by Peggy Carter, Nick Fury, and select Avengers members. The show is performing for a limited-time engagement from June 30-Aug. 31, 2023

4. See what updates await at Pixar Place Hotel. Updates to the former Paradise Pier will begin appearing through the summer. The stand-alone hotel, which offers views of Disney California Adventure and the famed World of Color water show, is located at 1717 South Disneyland Drive in Anaheim. Now, the Pixar focus will draw from the multiple movies and beloved characters, according to a Disneyland spokesperson. Guests arriving to stay at the hotel over the summer of 2023 can enjoy an all-new water play area inspired by “Finding Nemo,” featuring a 186-foot-long waterslide and pop-jet splash pad.

5. The transformation of San Fransokyo Square continues through mid-August, though guests will start to see new menu items in the area beginning in mid-July at Lucky Fortune Cookery and the Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería. More dining will be introduced in the weeks following – we’ll have more details to share on this soon!

When it opens, check out the new Aunt Cass Café, the second bakery café operated by Hiro’s aunt, the San Fransokyo Maker’s Market offers unique apparel and more featuring Baymax and friends and Rita's will offer margaritas and icy beverages.
