Car Fire On 22 Freeway Prompts SigAlert, Delayed Traffic

Traffic on the California State route 22 freeway was slowed after a car fire erupted in Garden Grove, the California Highway Patrol said.

SEAL BEACH, CA — Traffic on the Garden Grove freeway traveling westbound was slowed considerably after a car caught fire Monday afternoon near the Harbor Boulevard off-ramp, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The car fire was reported at 11:34 a.m., and no injuries have been reported. According to the CHP, the driver of the car has yet to be located. The car fire resulted in a half-hour SigAlert while authorities clear the fourth lane of the freeway.

Orange County residents are asked to avoid this area of the freeway until authorities clear the scene.
