Colorado Man Sentenced To Prison For Assaulting Girl In OC

Kenneth Wayne Fisher, 46, pleaded guilty in 2020 to taking an underage girl on a road trip that ended in Fountain Valley.

SANTA ANA, CA — A convicted sex offender from Colorado was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in federal prison for taking a 15-year-old girl he had a sexual relationship with on a 3 1/2-month road trip that ended in Fountain Valley.

Kenneth Wayne Fisher, 46, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, pleaded guilty in May 2020 to a count of transportation of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity and a count of commission of a felony offense involving a minor while required to register as a sex offender.

Fisher met the victim in Colorado on July 27, 2015, when he gave her methamphetamine and got into a sexual relationship with her while on the road trip, prosecutors said.

Fisher also robbed banks in Kansas and Arkansas in August 2015 and was later convicted of the stick-ups in those states. U.S. District Judge David Carter on Tuesday ordered that the defendant's punishment in Southern California run consecutive to his bank robbery sentence, which Fisher is expected to complete next year, prosecutors said.

Fisher's road trip with the victim ended on Nov. 16, 2015, when Fountain Valley police tried to pull him over and the defendant led officers on a high-speed chase until the vehicle ran out of gas on the San Diego (405) Freeway near Seal Beach, prosecutors said.
