- The Santa Ana police department has lost a beloved police dog to cancer. Aslan served the Santa Ana Police Department "for six faithful years," working with SAPD Corporal S. Martinez. As "the only certified firearm detection K-9 at the police department," Aslan was credited with finding and seizing 10,000 rounds of ammo, guns and body armor from a home in Santa Ana. The police department offered sincere condolences to Corporal Martinez, and added, "Rest in peace, Aslan. Your K-9 partners will take it from here." ( Orange County Patch)
