Fatal Crash Shuts Down 22 Freeway Transition, Kills Motorcyclist
The crash was reported at 7:05 a.m. Friday morning on the State route 22 freeway near the Interstate 5 interchange, authorities said.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — An investigation into a fatal crash slowed Friday morning traffic to a snail's pace on the State route 22 Freeway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash was initially reported at 7:05 a.m. on the freeway traveling westbound near the Interstate 5 Freeway in Santa Ana.
According to the CHP, one man — believed to be a motorcyclist — was found dead at the scene.

The crash prompted authorities to also shut down the transition from the eastbound side of the 22 Freeway to the northbound 57 Freeway as part of its investigation.
That interchange is the Orange Crush in Santa Ana where the Garden Grove, Santa Ana and Orange freeways meet, police said.
