ORANGE, CA — Firefighters from across Orange County battled the Serrano Fire Tuesday, which ignited in the Santiago Oaks Regional Park, just south of Anaheim, officials said.

The blaze broke out about 12:15 p.m. around Kendra Loop and Serrano Avenue, said Orange Fire Capt. Robert Prendergast. Roughly an hour later, first responders halted forward progress on the brusher, he said.

According to reports from the scene, most units have cleared from the Serrano Fire, and crews remained onsite in the final stages of mopping up. Hand crews are "turning dirt and putting out hot spots," a spokesperson from Anaheim Fire reported.
