According to Sutter, the fatality was not a result of the famed ride and "there is no indication of any operating issue with the attraction, which opened soon after."

The Haunted Mansion, one of Disneyland's most iconic and beloved attractions, opened in 1969 in New Orleans Square. It's one of the park's oldest rides.

In 2001, the Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay, based on "The Nightmare Before Christmas," was introduced to Disneyland guests.
