Man, 66, Struck And Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver; Suspect Sought

The Orange County Sheriff's Department asked for the public's help Wednesday in finding the suspected hit-and-run driver.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Authorities asked for the public's help Wednesday in finding a suspected hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a 66-year-old homeless man in Stanton.

Orange County Sheriff's deputies responded near Katella Avenue and Date Street at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian.

The victim, identified as Jeffrey DeLaRosa, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle was described as a 2007-2015 Nissan Rogue compact crossover SUV with front-end damage, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The driver was last seen heading eastbound on Katella Avenue toward Beach Boulevard, authorities said.
