Man Sexually Abused Girl For 9 Years Straight, Police Say

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A 62-year-old man was charged Thursday with repeatedly sexually assaulting a girl for over nine years.

Huntington Beach resident Michael James Salter was charged with eight felony counts of sexually assaulting the girl, including one count of rape and continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to the criminal complaint.

Salter was arrested on Tuesday, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

He is accused of assaulting the girl from July 2010 through Jan. 1, 2019, according to the complaint. He was accused of raping the girl in July 2018.

Salter did not enter a plea at his hearing Thursday in the jail courtroom in Santa Ana. He was scheduled to be arraigned June 13 in the West Justice Center in Westminster.
