Man Trafficked OC Teen, Held Her Against Will, Police Say
A man was arrested and charged with the human trafficking of a 16-year-old girl in Orange County, police said.

ANAHEIM, CA — A man was arrested and charged with human trafficking after a 16-year-old girl was found in a motel room with a loaded firearm, police said.
The suspect was identified as Donald Newton, 46, of Las Vegas, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
On May 30, police received a call reporting a teen girl who was being held against her will by an armed suspect.

Police were dispatched to a motel on the 700 block of S. Beach Boulevard in Anaheim where they found the victim and moved her to a safe location.
The suspect was not immediately found on the property, though a loaded firearm was found in the room. Newton was identified as a primary suspect and found two hours later in Stanton, where he was arrested.

He was later charged by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office with:
- Pimping a minor over 16 years old
- Pandering with a minor over 16 years old
- Human trafficking of a minor
- Possession of a firearm by a felon
- Possession of ammunition by a prohibited person
- Three counts of personal use of a firearm in a felony
Newton remains in custody on $500,000 bail. No further information was immediately available.
