Here are the top stories in Orange County today:

  1. Orange County gas prices continue to fall for the 37th consecutive day. If you're wondering how long the price free-fall will continue, Orange County Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager, explained, "wholesale gasoline prices are now lower than New York, so there should be further pump price drops ahead as long as that trend holds.” The average price for gas in Orange County "dropped for the 37th consecutive day, decreasing 1 cent to $4.352." Orange County hasn't seen gas prices this low since Sept. 23, 2001. (NBC Southern California)
  2. A fire ended a Saturday night party just before midnight in Rossmoor. The Orange County Fire Authority in Rossmoor "received multiple calls for a fire" after smoke could be seen coming from a home in the 3100 block of Donnie Ann Road at 11:59 p.m. Saturday. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from a "large home that was hosting a party." Crews acted quickly to make sure everyone got out of the home safely and quickly knocked down the blaze that officials said was caused by a faulty fireplace. 3. Two men from Orange were arrested in the shooting death of a 36-year-old woman killed by a stray bullet. The two young men were shooting at two teenagers who ran from the Santa Ana drive-by shooting, police said Sunday. The victim, Maria Del Rufugio Mora of Santa Ana, was the mother of three children. 4. Did you see a stunning rainbow at Dana Point on Monday? The rainy, cold weekend created perfect conditions for a bright rainbow that stretched across the sky. If you missed it, David Okun of Dana Point took an incredible photo in Capistrano Beach. Check out his photo, selected as the Patch photo of the day! (Patch)
