💰 Powerball® Win Poll
The odds of winning the Powerball® are 1 in 292,201,338.00. However, the chance of winning millions sells the tickets. How would you want to receive the money if you won? So far, 80 percent would take the lump sum, and the other 20 percent would take the annuity.

📰 Here are the top stories in Orange County today:

  1. The underground Creep Catchers assisted the Fullerton Police with identifying a suspected child predator. The 39-year-old man was arrested “for contact with (an adult posing as) a minor with the intent to have sex and sending harmful material to seduce a minor.” The suspect said he had “mental issues” and never planned to follow through. (KTLA)
  2. Firefighters stopped a brush fire on Great Park Boulevard in Irvine. Landscapers doing vegetation management accidentally caused the blaze. “Our goal is to hold 95 percent of brush fires to 10 acres or fewer, and we were able to accomplish that by holding this fire to 2.15 acres,” the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) explained. (Orange County Fire Authority)
  3. Meanwhile, OCFA rescued a man and woman from a jetty Sunday evening in Seal Beach. The two abandoned their boat as it was sinking. Firefighters plucked them off the jetty and took them to the hospital. (Patch)
  4. Does the Southland have a new favorite mountain lion? A wildlife photographer encountered a puma in Trabuco Canyon while checking cameras. Nicknamed Uno, the big cat is wearing a collar and “walks within an arm’s length of Girardeau’s vehicle, seemingly unconcerned with his presence.” (KTLA)
  5. Which are the most and least educated areas in the country? Experts tallied metrics of 150 metropolitan statistical areas with an eye on public school quality, gender education gap, and degree achievement — among other things. Ann Arbor, Michigan, is first, while Visalia, California, is last. However, the OC doesn’t come in until No. 94 as part of the Los Angeles - Long Beach - Anaheim area. More educated are San Francisco - Oakland - Berkeley in No. 4 and San Diego - Chula Vista - Carlsbad in No. 23. (Wallet Hub)
