OC Woman Embezzled More Than $121K From Design-Build Company

A 50-year-old Huntington Beach woman pleaded guilty Thursday to embezzling more than $121,000 from a Yorba Linda-based design-build company.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — A 50-year-old Huntington Beach woman pleaded guilty Thursday to embezzling more than $121,000 from a Yorba Linda-based design-build company and was immediately placed on three years of formal probation.

Marni Mathews Wilson pleaded guilty to two counts of grand theft by embezzlement and a count of making false entries in records or returns, all felonies. As part of the plea deal, two counts of making false entries were dismissed along with sentencing enhancements of aggravated white collar crime between $100,000 and $500,000 and property damage exceeding $65,000.

Mathews Wilson was charged in May with stealing $121,420.26 from Conscious Environments from February 2019 through January 2021, according to court records.
