💰 Powerball® Win Poll
The odds of winning the Powerball® are 1 in 292,201,338.00. However, the chance of winning millions sells the tickets. How would you want to receive the money if you won? So far, 75 percent would take the lump sum, and the other 25 percent would take the annuity.

📰 Here are the top stories today in Orange County:

  1. Indestructible “forever chemicals” were found in drinking water. Samples from “the City of San Juan Capistrano and the Irvine Ranch Water District” were above the limit designed by the Environmental Protection Agency. In contrast, “coastal communities such as Huntington Beach and Newport Beach” had test results below the limit. (Patch)
  2. The San Margarita Water District is reevaluating its huge price hikes for San Juan Capistrano. You may remember that proposed hikes could be as high as 700 percent. “I don’t think right now is the time for increasing rates,” Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley said. (Voice of OC)
  3. Who flew drones near a Coast Guard helicopter, a blimp, and a gyrocopter in Laguna Beach? A 62-year-old Laguna Beach man pleaded guilty to “three misdemeanor counts of unsafe operation of an unmanned aircraft.” His sentencing will occur on Nov. 28. Insiders anticipate a financial penalty rather than the “maximum penalty of a year in prison for each offense.” (Patch, Drone DJ)
  4. What’s going on with Huntington Beach’s Magnolia Tank Farm, which is supposed to be a mixed-use resident and hotel project? The city council approved zoning amendments to make it possible. However, the Coastal Commission isn’t on board, calling the proposed location “problematic.” Because of its low-lying location, it could be at risk for flooding, and “neither the county nor the city has identified any comprehensive plans to assess the specific vulnerabilities.” (Daily Pilot)
  5. Would you like to attend the Los Angeles Rams training camp? It runs from July 25 to Aug. 9 at the University of California, Irvine. Register to attend. You have seven practices to choose from. There’ll be giveaways, photo ops, and player autographs. (The Rams)
