Suspect ID'd In Fatal Shooting That Left 1 Dead In OC Park

A suspect accused of a violent attack in a Yorba Linda park on Sunday was identified by Orange County sheriff's officials.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A suspect accused of a violent attack in a Yorba Linda park on Sunday was identified by Orange County sheriff's officials.

The suspect was identified as 52-year-old Saead Ettefagh of Wildomar. According to sheriff's deputies, Ettefagh sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the attack.

Deputies responded to reports of a shooting at about 2:40 p.m. Sunday in the Canyon RV Park at Featherly Regional Park, on East Santa Ana Canyon Road, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The suspect and his two victims were hospitalized after the attack, deputies said.

Investigators believe all the individuals involved knew each other and that a dispute from a day prior led to the shooting, deputies said.

Ettefagh allegedly drove to the park and attempted to hit the victims with his vehicle, injuring one. He then exited the car and began shooting at the men before turning the gun toward himself, the department said.

The victim hit by the vehicle was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
