Three Sets of Siblings Reunite in OC Retirement Community, Sharing Years Under One Roof
Reunited in Retirement: The Legacy-Building Phelps Family Are Thriving Together at Morningside of Fullerton

Decades after growing up together, three sets of siblings have found themselves back under the same roof, this time at Morningside of Fullerton retirement community. Their stories are all heartwarming, but possibly the most enduring is the story of the Phelps family, who have a long family legacy of living at the community. Their father was the first resident to call the Life Plan community home in 1991. Their uncle was right behind him.
These siblings, who shared "hardships, joy, love, and laughter" in their youth in Fullerton, are now rediscovering the joys of siblinghood in their retirement at Morningside.
John, 87, and Louise, 85, live across the street from one another, and younger sister Carol, 80, lives in an apartment just a short walk from them.

The benefits of having siblings nearby are clear: "It's fun seeing each other and enjoying our frequent visits." The siblings meet up for dining opportunities and play cards together regularly. This unique living situation offers them companionship and support, enriching their retirement experience.
According to recent studies, having a strong sibling bond as you age can help reduce loneliness, anxiety, and depression and is linked to overall better mental health.
