Timely and Informative Business Preparedness Academy Scheduled for Tuesday, September 16

South Coast Metro businesses are invited to the Business Preparedness Academy on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 9 AM until 4 PM.

The effects of a major earthquake or another disaster can be jarring. No matter whether they happen at a hotel, office, retailer, or multifamily residential property, emergencies are an unfortunate fact of business life.

To help South Coast Metro businesses enhance their emergency preparedness knowledge and skills, the South Coast Metro Alliance, in partnership with the City of Costa Mesa, the Costa Mesa Fire & Rescue and Police Departments and the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce, will host the Business Preparedness Academy on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 9 AM until 4 PM.

This no-cost, professionally led, hands-on training experience will be held at the Costa Mesa Emergency Operations Center, located at 99 Fair Drive next to the Costa Mesa Police Department. Parking and lunch are complimentary. Please inform the Alliance of any food allergies when registering.

Topics for the session include learning how to prepare for emergencies at work, including action steps, search and rescue skills, medical treatment area setup, fire safety, and team organization. Attendees are asked to wear closed-toe shoes, and to bring a light jacket or sweater and sunglasses.
