1. The popular Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend is back! The popular race in the Happiest Place on Earth will take place from Jan. 11-14, 2024, at the Disneyland Resort, and organizers say it's the first time Disney will be hosting the half marathon since 2017. 2. How much rain will the next storm bring to Orange County? Yes, another storm system is moving into O.C. Wednesday night into Thursday. This storm will bring rain, gusty winds and crashing waves. According to NWS meteorologist Alexander Tardy, O.C. may see up to a quarter of an inch of rain on Wednesday, and Thursday, "rain could be heavy at times" with wind gusts as high as 35 m.p.h. with "1 to 2 inches of rain possible." 4. Dana Point whale watchers were recently treated to "a once-in-a-lifetime event." Passengers on Captain Dave's Dolphin Safari thought they had spotted a typical migrating gray whale off of Dana Strands Beach until something unexpected happened. The passengers and crew saw something red in the water by the whale, and thought it may have been kelp or a shark "predatory event," said Matt Stumpf, Captain Dave's spokesperson and drone operator. But then a newborn calf surfaced and started to swim, "bonding with its mother"! (Patch)
