• East Bay Families Hit With Higher Water Bills To Rescue Aging Orinda Plant (hoodline.com) — Your water bill is rising in part to fund a major overhaul of EBMUD’s Orinda Water Treatment Plant, a project pegged around $341 million within a larger 10‑year capital plan. The work adds ultraviolet disinfection, new chlorine facilities and a modular electrical building to protect water quality for roughly 800,000 East Bay customers, with completion targeted for spring 2027.
