Arson Suspect Arrested For Uber Office Fire: Daly City Police

Daly City officers found the small fire Sunday night and quickly extinguished the blaze that damaged a front window.

DALY CITY, CA — A man was arrested after allegedly trying to set a fire at an Uber office in Daly City on Sunday night, according to police.

Police said the suspect, 26-year-old Casey Long, was seen by a witness running from the front of the building at 950 John Daly Blvd. to the back of the building after setting a fire.

Officers responded at 10:42 p.m. and found a small fire near the front door that was quickly extinguished after causing damage to a front window, police said.

Officers searching the area found Long near the rear of the business and arrested him on suspicion of arson. Police said nothing in their investigation indicates the ride-hailing service Uber was specifically targeted in the case.
