Gas Leak Prompts El Granada Evacuations, Shelter-In-Place Advisories
Evacuations were lifted late Monday afternoon.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A gas main break evacuated residents in 17 homes and those in 35 more were advised to shelter-in-place in El Granada on Monday afternoon, according to Cal Fire CZU.
Gas was shut off on Montecito Avenue until 8 p.m., according to PG&E. Evacuations were lifted on Monday afternoon.
Residents in the following streets were also advised to shelter-in-place:

- Paloma Avenue (between Sonora Avenue and Avenue Balboa)
- Valencia Avenue (between Carmel Avenue and Almeria Avenue)
- Montecito Avenue (between Avenue Balboa and Valencia Avenue).
The streets were also closed to traffic. PG&E said there was no timetable for reopening.
