Highway 1 Open At Devils Slide Tunnels: CHP
UPDATED: The Tom Lantos Tunnels are between Pacifica and Half Moon Bay.

UPDATE: The Tom Lantos Tunnels on state Highway 1 in unincorporated San Mateo County have reopened early Wednesday morning after they were closed late Tuesday due to a power outage in the tunnels, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The tunnels between Pacifica and Half Moon Bay were closed around 5 p.m. Tuesday before being reopened around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, the CHP said.
The power went out Tuesday afternoon and a generator kicked in, according to the CHP, but the generator went out about an hour later.

SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — The Tom Lantos Tunnels along state Highway 1 in unincorporated San Mateo County were closed Tuesday evening because of a power outage in the tunnels, authorities said.

Both directions were closed as of 5:07 p.m. and may open at about 6 p.m. The tunnels are between Pacifica and Half Moon Bay.
The power went out Tuesday afternoon and a generator kicked in, CHP officials said. But the generator went out about an hour later, CHP spokesman Officer Kurtis Waldschmidt said.
Authorities are not sure what caused the power outage. Waldschmidt said it might have been the wind or a PG&E problem. He said a high wind advisory is in effect for the area.
Caltrans officials urge motorists to take alternate routes.
