PACIFICA, CA — First responders from multiple agencies worked together by land and air this week to reach an injured hiker and lift him to safety from Montara Mountain.

Cal Fire shared images of the California Highway Patrol's H30 helicopter as aircrews arrived to hoist the man to safety.

Cal Fire's San Mateo-Santa Cruz unit worked with Coastside Fire, AMR, and California State Parks to provide care on the mountain. The CHP helicopter hoisted the hiker to safety and flew him to a nearby airport, where an ambulance was waiting to take him to the hospital.
