Man Killed, Woman Injured In Pacifica Stabbing

Officers responding to a domestic violence report found a man and woman with stab wounds, prompting a nearby school to lockdown Friday.

PACIFICA, CA — A stabbing left one man dead and a woman injured Friday morning in Pacifica, and the search for a suspect prompted a precautionary lockdown at Vallemar Elementary School, according to police.

In a news release, the Pacific Police Department said officers were sent to the 200 block of Naomi Avenue around 7:45 a.m. on reports of domestic violence. When officers arrived, they found a man and woman with stab wounds. Medics rushed the woman to the hospital and the man was pronounced dead the the scene.

Police said a "known suspect" was seen leaving the area and began a search in the vicinity with the help of neighboring agencies. The school entered lockdown out of an abundance of caution during the search, but officers did not locate the person.

"We believe the suspect left the area and there is no public safety threat to the Pacifica community," the department wrote Friday. "The Pacifica Police Department detectives are actively working with allied agencies and following up on leads to locate the suspect."
