One Dead After Car Goes Over Cliff On Highway 1 In Pacifica: CHP
Highway 1 was closed indefinitely in the southbound direction near the Tom Lantos Tunnels while emergency personnel respond to the scene.
PACIFICA, CA — One person died after a car went over a steep cliff and landed on a beach off Highway 1 in Pacifica on Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported before 2:30 p.m. Highway 1 was closed indefinitely in the southbound direction near the Tom Lantos Tunnels while emergency personnel respond to the scene, according to the CHP.
Crews from Cal Fire CZU began a recovery operation around 4:30 p.m. at Devils Slide, where a vehicle and a body had been located a few hundred feet down.

A coroner was en route around 3:10 p.m., according to CHP.
