Pacifica Police Arrest NJ Man Accused In DUI, Hit-And-Run Crash

Police allege the man was driving under the influence when he fled a crash scene and was still intoxicated during his arrest.

PACIFICA, CA — The Pacifica Police Department arrested a New Jersey man on suspicion of DUI shortly after officers allege he was involved in a hit-and-run crash.

According to police, the investigation began on Aug. 20 when the victim reported their 2021 Tesla was damaged by a driver in a Ford F-150 rental truck who fled the scene on Cabrillo Highway. Officers later spotted the same truck driving through a stop sign at Crespi Drive and Seville Drive and pulled the vehicle over.

Police said the driver showed signs of intoxication and he was placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. Further investigation revealed that the driver was the same person involved in the hit-and-run crash, which police also believe was the result of intoxication.
