Work Begins On Crespi Drive Pedestrian Crossing Project: Pacifica
Work will begin Monday on a pedestrian crossing improvement project in Pacifica, bringing vegetated curb extensions to Crespi Drive.

PACIFICA, CA — Work is scheduled to start Monday on a pedestrian crossing improvement project at Cabrillo Elementary School on Crespi Drive in Pacifica.
Work will involve removal of existing asphalt pavement within the right of way. Installed in its place will be a vegetated curb extension at the mid-block crossing directly in front of the school that will temporarily collect and filter storm runoff before it enters the storm drain system or creeks.
The vegetated curb extensions help reduce or eliminate polluted runoff, reduce storm water management costs, and increase pedestrian safety and aesthetic value of the street and neighborhood, city officials said in an announcement.

The project, expected to be completed by June, will be confined to the existing city right of way and won't involve grading or utility work.Because it is categorized as a public works infrastructure transportation safety project, the construction is deemed as essential under the San Mateo County shelter-in-place order.
Questions or comments about the project can be made to the Public Works Department at (650) 738-3767 or engineering@ci.pacifica.ca.us.
