UPDATE: 1 Killed In Early Morning Coachella Valley Rollover Crash

The crash happened just after 6 a.m. Tuesday morning on the eastbound 10 Freeway at Frontage Road in Mecca.

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA -- A Fresno man was found dead early Tuesday morning by firefighters dispatched to the site of a rollover crash in Mecca.

The crash happened just after 6 a.m. on the eastbound 10 Freeway at Frontage Road in Mecca, according to the Riverside County Fire Department. An ambulance, two fire engines and six firefighters arrived at the scene about 20 minutes later.

Emergency crews found the 46-year-old driver of a Toyota 4Runner, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, CHP Officer Jackie Quintero said.

No one else was injured in the rollover crash.

The crash is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol, but drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors, Quintero said.
