17 Arrested During Coachella Valley Gang Task Force Operation
Authorities said over 15 agencies were involved in the several weeks-long operation that ended in the arrest of 16 men and one woman.

COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — One woman and 14 men were behind bars Wednesday following a probation and parole compliance operation in the eastern Coachella Valley.
The Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force checked various locations at around 7 a.m. Tuesday as part of the operation, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities said over 15 agencies were involved in the several weeks-long operation that ended in the arrest of 16 men and one woman. Officers allegedly also found two illegally possessed 9mm handguns during the operation.

According to inmate records, 14 of the men were booked into the John J. Benoit Center in Indio, but two were released on $5,000 bail Tuesday and one was released Wednesday morning on $50,000 bail. Two men and the woman remained jailed at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
Authorities said three men were also cited, but later released, during the operation.
