2 Red Carpet Events Honor RivCo Caregivers
The gatherings in Palm Desert and Moreno Valley is part of the county's recognition of National Family Caregivers Month.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A red-carpet luncheon in Palm Desert on Tuesday brought together roughly 500 caregivers, county officials, union members and more to honor the essential role caregivers play in supporting Riverside County residents.
Held Nov. 18 at the Classic Club, the four-hour event featured lunch, raffle prizes, resource booths and special presentations celebrating the work of more than 54,000 In-Home Supportive Services caregivers who assist more than 60,000 residents across the county.
The gathering is part of Riverside County’s recognition of National Family Caregivers Month, observed every November to honor the more than 63 million family caregivers nationwide.

This year’s local theme, “Caregivers: The Real Stars in Our Lives," highlighted the dedication, compassion, and often unseen labor caregivers bring to their work every day.
A second luncheon will take place Thursday, Nov. 20, at the Moreno Valley Conference & Recreation Center, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and is expected to draw a similar number of attendees.

Interested in Becoming a Caregiver?
Riverside County residents interested in joining the IHSS program can apply at RiversideIHSS.org or call 1-888-960-4477 (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.). Applicants must be 18 or older, and no prior experience is required. Benefits include flexible hours, paid training, and union membership.
The county also offers free monthly bilingual application workshops in Indio, Jurupa Valley, Moreno Valley, Riverside, and Wildomar. Registration is available at this link.
