370 Motorcycle Riders Are Rumbling Into Riverside County: What To Know
They have a mission statement, and it's tied to the Vietnam War that ended 50 years ago: "We Ride For Those Who Can't."
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Nearly 400 motorcycle riders will roll into the Coachella Valley this week as part of the annual "Run for the Wall," a cross-country ride to the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.
The largest cross-country motorcycle ride commemorates the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, and honors missing-in-action, prisoner of war, and killed-in-action military service members. The "Run for the Wall" mission statement is "We Ride For Those Who Can't."
From 8:30 a.m. to about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, 370 riders will make a rest stop at Shelee's Travel Center, 46355 Dillon Road in Coachella. The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians will welcome the riders.
