Organizers -- Friends of Sally -- said that despite her successful career as a working actor, she lost a lot of money from bad advice from a former financial adviser-business manager. Organizers also said the SAG-AFTRA actors union in 2021 canceled supplemental insurance for union members over 65 that served as Medigap coverag.
TMZ reported that Kirkland began to develop dementia last year.
