Aerial Tramway Expected To Run This Weekend After Repairs Were Made
The downed tramway is being repaired and was expected to start running again Saturday morning.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will reopen on Saturday, August 16. The first tram up will be at 8 a.m., the last tram up will be at 9 p.m. and the last tram down will be at 10:30 p.m. Tram cars depart at least every 30 minutes.
“We wish to extend our thanks to Tram patrons for their patience during this unexpected shutdown,” states Tramway General Manager Nancy Nichols.
One week ago, the tram was halted due to a faulty part. That troublesome piece of equipment required special efforts to locate, and the experts who keep the tram running were not sure when it would actually arrive.

“Our Tramway Systems team worked tirelessly to isolate and then replace the malfunctioning part," Nichols said in a recent news release. "We are now eager to welcome guests back to the Tramway and the Mt. San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness."
