Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes In Palm Desert

PALM DESERT,CA — A suspected drunk driver was injured when she slammed her car into a tree in Palm Desert, sheriff's officials said Sunday.

The crash occurred at about 12:15 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Highway 111 and Monterey Avenue, Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Marcus Abbe said.

Clashea Rivera, 28, of Palm Desert, who was allegedly driving drunk, veered off the road and crashed into a tree just east of Monterey Avenue, Abbe said.

She was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No other vehicles were involved and an investigation into the crash was ongoing, Abbe said.
