Suicide Suspected After Woman Plunges From Bridge Onto I-10 Freeway In Indio

A preliminary investigation by the California Highway Patrol indicates she jumped from the Golf Center Parkway bridge onto the freeway.

INDIO, CA — A woman who died over the holiday weekend after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 10 in Indio was identified as a Los Angeles resident.

Denise Madril, 55, was struck at 4:33 p.m. Friday on the eastbound side of the freeway at Golf Center Parkway, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation by the California Highway Patrol indicates Madril jumped from the Golf Center Parkway bridge onto the freeway.
